A thick black cloud of smoke filled the air in Marshland St James on Sunday as firefighters tackled a blaze at a commercial building.
Crews from Wisbech, West Walton, King’s Lynn and Downham Market were called to the Eastern Country Foods factory in Smeeth Road at around 5.30pm to reports of the fire.
It is believed that a nearby outdoor rubbish fire was caught by a back wind, and managed to catch the sides of a storage warehouse at the back of the site.
Photos and videos of the fire, and the smoke spreading across the A47 carriageway, were posted by people on Facebook and Twitter.
