Flat in Wisbech caught on fire over the weekend

A fire broke out in a Wisbech flat over the weekend.

Firefighters from the town were called at 4.59pm on Saturday to reports of the blaze on Haley Close.

They arrived to find a fire in a first floor flat.

Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

The crews returned to their station by 6pm and the cause of the fire was accidental.
