Museum Fossils Galore in March hosting series of events throughout school holidays for youngsters to get hands-on
A fossil museum is taking visitors back in time during a series of events throughout the school holiday.
Museum Fossils Galore, based in March, is having a summer full of prehistoric fun with lots to do for all the family, with children's activities where they can dig for their own treasure or smash open a rock full of crystals.
The museum will be full of real dinosaur bones, live preparation of Indie the Iguanodon, as well as an on-site palaeontologist to ask all your fossil and dinosaur questions too.
There are lots of events taking place throughout the summer holidays, including:
- Saturday, July 19 is a Dinosaur Fun Day, with your chance to meet Ruby the T-Rex
- Saturday, August 2, brings back the popular gold event, giving you a chance to discover real gold. You get to keep a piece of gold if you can find it
- Saturday, August 9 - the Fossils Galore team will be taking part in Estafest at Estover Park
- Saturday, August 16, is your chance to bring in any of your own fossils and crystals to trade for new ones to add to your collection
- Saturday, August 23 - the museum has a reptile expert coming, so you can get up close to a variety of reptiles and mini beasts, learn all about these living fossils
- Saturday, September 6, will be handed over to you to come down and show off your collections with people who share the same interests. To book a table, contact the museum.
