LEARN MOREChildren and staff at Peckover School dressed in their finest fancy-dress costumes or came into school in non-uniform to support the annual Children in Need appeal.
Each gave a donation of £1 towards the cause resulting in an incredible £502.07 being raised for the charity.
In the afternoon, children, staff from the school and the nursery gathered on the meadow.
Everyone put on their dancing shoes and performed the song ‘By Your Side’ by Tom Grennan and Calvin Harris. The school was able to film the performance with a drone and shared the children’s hard work with parents and carers after the event. A video of the song has been posted on the school website on the news page.

To raise further funds, the school held a cake sale at the end of the day and a staff collection.
Kate Kendal, principal of Peckover Primary School, said: “We are so proud to have raised such an incredible amount for Children in Need. As a school, we aim to create a vibrant community where everyone feels valued and welcome, and we hope to achieve the best for each individual child. It was amazing to see our students, staff and community come together and show such enthusiasm to support other children across the UK.”
Esther Fletcher, vice principal who co-ordinated the event, said: “The response from parents and staff has been brilliant, not just in their fundraising but in ensuring that every child had a costume, and every child was ready to sing their heart out."
