LEARN MOREWisbech mayor Andrew Lynn enjoyed all the fun of the fair on Friday (4) as he officially opened the town's annual Mart.
It is the first time in two years the Mart has been held, although the fair was in town last autumn. The fair is in town until Saturday night (12) and is currently occupying Chapel Road car park.
The mayor and his fellow councillors and council officers braved Friday's inclement weather to officially open the Mart, which includes rides and side stalls for all the family to enjoy.
Councillor Lynn and the other councillors took a ride on the dodgems and while the mayor also tried his hand on the coconut shy and hook a duck during his visit, which saw him follow a centuries old tradition where the town's mayor officially declares the fair open.
The fair is open Monday to Friday 6pm to 10pm with reduced prices on Thursday (10).
It is open 2pm to 10pm on Saturday before the showmen pack up and head off on Sunday.
As a result of the fair being in town there is limited parking. Chapel Road car park is closed and Somers Road has limited space as the showmen are occupying part of it.
