Evolution Health and Wellness Centre officially opens in Wisbech

It was a busy start for a new Wisbech health and wellness centre that officially opened up last week.

The ribbon to Evolution Health and Wellness Centre was cut by the town’s mayor Sidney Imafidon and MP Steve Barclay also came along to show his support.

Intrigued members of the public came along and they got to try taster sessions from Indian head massages to Thai foot massages.

Crystals were available to buy on the day and sound healing also took place.

Kate Litchfield, from the health centre, said: “Our opening day went really well, we had a very busy day.

“We had both Sidney the Mayor of Wisbech and Our MP Steve Barclay come, both were extremely interested and enthusiastic about what we were doing and our plans going forward.

“They seem impressed that we were trying to address the physical and mental aspects as well as education.”

Drop-in groups will be hosted at the centre twice a day for five days a week.

Kate added: “We will be offering a range of therapies including Indian head massage, Thai foot massage, Swedish massage, reiki, adult dyslexia support, nutrition and health and wellness coaching, Aura readings - with health graphs, crystal healing, sound healing sessions and life coaching

“We will also be offering workshops in stress management and health and nutrition.

“We are hoping that as we become more known in the area, we will have a wider range of therapies and workshops available. “

The centre plans to eventually be open for seven days a week. Currently, it is open Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 10am-4pm. Weekends are open for drop-in sessions.

However, more volunteers are needed for the centre to open more frequently.

Kate said: “We are going to need to fundraise and look for donations to run the centre so that we can meet our main aim which is to make available to everyone by having a fund available for members of the community to apply to - who would otherwise not be able to access complementary therapies or education.

“We also hope to build connections with the surgeries in Wisbech and surrounding villages.”

A website for Evolution Health and Wellness is coming soon.
