Wisbech care home residents receive special visit from high sheriff as he tours new facilities

Care home residents received a special visit from the High Sheriff as he explained to curious elderly people his role.

High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire Dr Bharatkumar Khetani went along to Barchester’s Rose Lodge Care Home in Wisbech on Wednesday to see their new facilities.

While visiting, Dr Khetani spoke to residents about what he has been doing in his role for the past year – just before he is due to step down in a couple of weeks.

He was joined by his wife Pritty and both were impressed with the work staff at the care home do each day.

Rose Lodge also presented their newest initiative, a ‘wish’ post box, which has been decorated and personalised by their residents and is a place where each resident can post a ‘wish’ for the homes team to try and fulfil one of the first request being a hot air balloon ride.

Customer Relationship Manager at Rose Lodge Care Home Georgia Johnson said: “It was such an honour for us to welcome High Sheriff Dr Bharatkumar Khetani and his wife here for the day.

“The residents were delighted that they were able to visit us and enjoy refreshments.

“We were all in awe at the work the High Sheriff Dr Bharatkumar Khetani has been doing over the past year and hope he and his wife enjoy their well-deserved break when he steps down.”

Rose Lodge care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering personalised care across its care homes and hospitals.

Rose Lodge provides residential care, nursing care and dementia care for residents from respite care to long term stays.
