House builders wanted for £50m Chatteris development




A contractor is being sought for a major housing development in Chatteris which could have a gross development value of up to £50 million.

Robertson Strategic Asset Management, part of the family-owned Robertson Group, which specialises in construction, infrastructure and support services is looking for suitable house builders to develop the Womb Farm site off Doddington Road after Fenland's planning committee gave the development the green-light last month.

The development, which received unanimous support of Fenland's planning committee, is for a 250 homes development.

Mark Longley, director, Robertson Strategic Asset Management, said: “Working with the landowner our objective was to gain planning consent for a much-needed residential development in Chatteris.

"It is anticipated that the new dwellings will bring economic growth to the area and offer a desirable lifestyle for many with a close commute to Cambridge, Huntingdon and Peterborough with London also in easy reach.

“RSAM offers landowners the opportunity to maximise their assets by utilising our skills in development and strategic land promotion.

“We are confident this deal represents the first of what is anticipated to be a programme of successful strategic land promotions for the business across the UK.”

The new development will comprise of a mix of new homes and has been identified as an area for growth in Fenland.
