Whittlesey Lakeside site manager Ashley Piergianni handed Pride in the Job Quality Award

Inspectors have given a site manager an award for his quality of work on a village housing development.

Ashley Piergianni, who has worked for Barratt Homes for seven years, has been handed the National House Building Council’s Pride in the Job Quality Award for the second year running.

The 31-year-old senior site manager works at the Whittlesey Lakeside development on Eastrea Road, and said the feeling of winning was “indescribable”.

“To be recognised for a second year running reiterates the consistency of hard work undertaken on a daily basis,” he said.

“I believe this award has come through having that commitment to quality day in, day out.”

The Pride in the Job award is one of the most highly regarded competitions in the industry.

Mr Piergianni puts his success down to staying interested in the details and complying with the organisation’s standards.

“Consistency is key to maintaining a high level of standards throughout each build stage every day of the year,” he added.

He thanked his team, including assistant Max Flintoft, construction director Scott Weatherbed, and inspector Andy Thiemann, as well as the operatives and contractors working on the Whittlesey site.

Simon Francis, managing director at Barratt Homes Northampton, said it was “amazing news”.

“These awards showcase what it takes to be a top site manager and demonstrate our long-term commitment to looking after our customers,” he said.

“Anyone who buys a home at a development with a Pride in the Job Quality Award winner knows their home has been built to the highest standard.

“We are very proud to have won more of these awards than any other homebuilder for 21 years in a row now.”
