How to stay safe and prevent fires during heatwave
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue post a list of dos and don'ts for the heatwave.
With temperatures hitting significant highs of over 30°C🌡, help prevent outdoor fires by following these simple tips 👇
🔥 Don't have bonfires ❌. The dry weather can cause the fire to spread to sheds, buildings and vegetation and could even endanger lives.
🚬 Don't throw cigarette butts out of car windows, or into grass verges or vegetation ❌
🍗 Use barbecues on a hard, flat surface well away from sheds, fences, vegetation and buildings ✔
🗨 Talk to your children about the dangers of starting fires. Remember, arson is a crime and ties up crews unnecessarily.
If you see a fire, dial 999 ☎ and ask for the fire service 🔥
