How to stay safe and prevent fires during heatwave




Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue post a list of dos and don'ts for the heatwave.

With temperatures hitting significant highs of over 30°C🌡, help prevent outdoor fires by following these simple tips 👇

🔥 Don't have bonfires ❌. The dry weather can cause the fire to spread to sheds, buildings and vegetation and could even endanger lives.

🚬 Don't throw cigarette butts out of car windows, or into grass verges or vegetation ❌

🍗 Use barbecues on a hard, flat surface well away from sheds, fences, vegetation and buildings ✔

🗨 Talk to your children about the dangers of starting fires. Remember, arson is a crime and ties up crews unnecessarily.
