Hunt for violent prisoner who attacked Chatteris man and is on the run from prison

Police are appealing for help to locate a man jailed for the brutal attack on Chatteris man Robert ‘Speedy’ Lea who has absconded from Hollesley Bay open prison.

Michael Cocksedge, 22, formerly of Chatteris, was reported missing at approximately 7pm yesterday (Monday) after he was absent from a roll call at the jail, which is located near Woodbridge, Suffolk.

Cocksedge, who was jailed in August 2019, is serving an 11 and half year prison sentence for GBH and violent disorder.

He is described as approximately white, 5ft 6in tall, with black hair, hazel eyes

Anyone who believes they have seen Cocksedge or who has any information regarding his whereabouts, is asked to contact Suffolk police on 101, quoting CAD reference 305 of Monday May 29 2023
