'I'm sorry for the way I acted. I just drank too much' says Murrow man

A 21-year-old Murrow man has been told to keep out of trouble for at least a year after being convicted of being drunk and disorderly in public.

Joseph Patrick James Goodhew, of Black Drove, was causing a nuisance in Norfolk Street, King’s Lynn, around 1am on September 29. Magistrates sitting in King's Lynn on Thursday heard he was loitering around bar entrances, getting into squabbles and being antagonistic. He ignored police advice to go home.

At about 2.25am Goodhew was outside Bar 100 shouting and challenging people to altercations, prosecutor Jane Walker told the court.

“It was at this point he was arrested for being drunk and disorderly,” added Miss Walker.

He pleaded guilty to the offence and told the bench: “I’m sorry for the way that I acted. I just drank too much.”

He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £85 costs and £21 victim surcharge.
