Invitation to cry, to laugh and to share following tragic death of March-based 20Twenty Productions' beautiful Geri
An open invitation has been issued by 20Twenty Productions to a special memorial this evening (Tuesday) to grieve the loss of one their members killed in a car crash.
Geraldine (known as Geri) Crooke, 29, of Crescent Road, Whittlesey, was driving a red Mini 1 along March Road at about 8.15am yesterday (17) when she left the road and entered Twenty Foot Drain.
Emergency services were called and Geri was taken to Peterborough City Hospital where she later died.
Posting to their Facebook page Katherine Nightingale, creative director of March-based 20Twenty Productions, said: "To all our wonderful friends, we lost our heartbeat today.
"Our beautiful Geri was taken from us. We are all in shock and disbelief. Geri is loved by so many and will be in our hearts for ever and ever.
"This is the hardest Facebook post I’ve ever had to write. Tomorrow (Tuesday) at 5pm at the Town Hall please join us to cry, to laugh and to share."
The post prompted an outpouring of sympathy for Geri's family and friends and messages paying tribute to Geri, who was the academy manager of all of the 20Twenty Academy youth theatres and youth volunteering programmes, as well as mentoring apprentices.
One woman posted: "Such a beautiful ball of sunshine. You hold a very special place in our hearts."
Another wrote: "You will be so so missed. I will remember your gorgeous smile, your amazing patience, your unwavering support for so many people and the impact you have had on so many, especially the amazing young people you worked with."
While another post read: "Such sad new she was a beautiful lady. Thoughts are with all her family and friends."
Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the Mini prior to the collision should call police on 101 quoting incident 97 of June 17.
