Jay was singing in the rain in Wisbech
Rain failed to stop musician Jay Harrison from performing in Wisbech on Saturday – despite a lack of any real audience.
The torrential non-stop rain kept music lovers away but in true entertainment style the show must go on and so Jay Harrison still stepped up the mike to perform not only his own songs, but also covers of classic hits.
Jay, who is known for his award winning work playing 24 gigs in 24 hours in West Norfolk in support of Norfolk and Waveney MIND, was able to keep relatively dry, thanks to a gazebo hastily put up by town councillors.
Jay is the second in a series of free summer fun activities on offer in Wisbech.
On Friday (21), in the drier conditions Crazy Corin Kids Disco along with an entertainer and Treefellas provided interactive comedy as they walked around the Market Place.
Events are taking place every Friday and Saturday until the end of August in the town centre and a full line up is available on Wisbech Town Council’s Facebook page.
This Friday (28) from noon to 2pm there’s a chance to enjoy Tommy Rollason Circus Mania.
There are a host of other free activities for families in Wisbech Park and these include scavenger hunts, natural arts and crafts and games. Again more details are available on the town council Facebook page.
