Killer B’s surge to top March darts league
GER ‘B’ surged to the top of March Friday Night Summer Darts League Group A, following their 11-1 demolition of GER Hot Shotz.
Brian Jones recorded a maximum 180; Leon Womack included a 100 finish in 8 ton plusses and Mick Wyles also recorded 8 tons. Peter Church recorded 12 ton plusses and Martin King hit a maximum 180 for the Hot Shotz.
Top Flight had John Gelder to thank for preserving their unbeaten start. His last singles win over Tom Granger earned a draw against Sportsman A. Andy Smith top scored for the USC side including a maximum 180 in 8 ton plusses. Jack Saunders also recorded 8 ton plusses for the Chatteris side.
In Group B, The Crown continued their good start with an 8-4 home win over GER Outsiders. Todd Shales and Jon Porter recorded 6 tons apiece for the Upwell side. Kevin Cooper recorded 9 ton plusses for the GER side.
Sweeney Todd won 8-4 at the Sportsman B. Steve Carrett was in fine form including a 180 and a 101 finish in 15 ton plusses.
GER Posh Canaries beat In The Buff 9-3. Bob Dunlop won all four of his games for the GER side, recording 11 ton plusses in the process. Trevor Hanley recorded 10 ton plusses for the Buffs side.
GER Slickers top Group C. They beat the Three Tuns 10-2. Tim Fulcher included a 160 away in 11 ton plusses; Mark Cross included finishes of 110 and 109 in 7 ton plusses and Andy Youles also recorded 7 tons for the GER side. Les Baldock recorded 11 ton plusses and Brian Pearson had a 154 away for the Doddington side.
The Five Alls are up to second following their 11-1 win over the Young Ones. Gary Hastie included a maximum 180 in 8 ton plusses for the Benwick side. Best reply came from Jack Emery with 8 ton plusses.
GER M & M’s have won their first 3 games. They came from 4-1 down and won all four of the 501 singles games to pip GER Men 7-5. Liam Moore hit 6 ton plusses for the M & M’s. For GER Men, Scott Carter included a maximum 180 in 8 tons and Gary Wojtowych also recorded 8 tons.
