Lane closures for Guyhirn roundabout works
Roadworks on the A47 roundabout at Guyhirn will mean overnight lane closures from tomorrow (Monday) until April 30.
Work started in February on the project to increase the size of the roundabout, and vegetation clearance has now been completed to allow for the main work to begin.
For the safety of the public and workers, there will be lane closures from 8pm to 6am between April 12 and April 30. Traffic will still be able to use the junction and there will be temporary traffic lights and road markings.
During these dates the existing ‘keep left’ bollard and the island kerb at the exit of Gull Road/A47 will be temporarily removed to allow traffic to turn right when the roundabout is closed.
Changing the turning out of Gull Road is aimed at reducing congestion during the roadworks. Safety barriers will also be in place while the existing roundabout is removed.
There will also be overnight road closures for two dates yet to be determined during May, involving the A47/Fenn Road from the existing Guyhirn roundabout to Gull Road/A47 junction.
The A141 entrance and exit on the Guyhirn roundabout will also be closed for a night, with closure dates advertised on signs at the roadside two weeks ahead of the closures to give drivers advanced notice.
Traffic diversions will be in place when the road is closed.
