MARCH TOWN CENTRE PLAN: 'Where were the shopping trolleys, litter and pigeons!'

READER'S LETTER...

Reading the story in last week’s Citizen, about ‘Town Centre Transformation’ was like a breath of spring, ie April 1... before noon.

The artist’s impression fulfilled every expectation. The sun shining in the sky, north of the fountain – that’s a first!

It cannot be the moon, to be there would be 11pm in December.

The 31 citizens are thronging Broad Street, people sitting around in shirtsleeves.

A token mobility scooter lurks in the region of ‘Thing-Me-Bobs’.

The elderly, myself included, dogs and pigeons have been totally airbrushed out of the picture.

Shopping trolleys and litter are things of the past. Not a bus or delivery vehicle to be seen.

A shy car turns left from Broad Street to Dartford Road, another car, perhaps belonging to Noddy, much smaller than the pedestrians walking by, waits at the pedestrian crossing, heading south.
