Liberal Democrats win majority at Cambridgeshire County Council Elections 2025




Following election day last week, the county council’s largest party has been revealed.

The Liberal Democrats are now the main political group for Cambridgeshire County Council after winning 31 seats during the counts on Friday.

The Conservatives and Reform won ten seats each, with Labour having five, the Green Party holding three, and a further two given to independent candidates.

At its next annual general meeting on Tuesday, May 20, at New Shire Hall in Alconbury, the council will agree on the key political roles, such as its leader and all key committee appointments.
