Majestic horses wow at 61st annual Gorefield Show
Once again it was the majestic horses that stole the show at a popular Fenland event.
Gorefield Show was back for its 61st year and it did not disappoint the thousands of visitors who flocked to it.
The ever-popular heavy horse show saw the magnificent animals parade in the ring for the crowds to admire and the judges to pick their winners.
Smaller horses were also able to impress judges in the various showing classes.
Children did not only compete in traditional races but also took part in a tug-of-war testing their strength against a tractor.
Dogs were not left out as there was a fun show for them with a range of novelty classes and also a dog agility display.
In addition to the main ring events, the show was packed full of attractions for all the family from trade stands and stalls, to a display of vintage vehicles, tractors, steam engines, and fair rides.
There were performances from Farmyard Circus and Gorilla Circus who both wowed the audiences with their fun tricks.
Back by popular demand was Fens Falconry offering the opportunity for people to get up close and personal with some of nature’s best-designed predators and to learn more about these incredible birds.
New for this year were some cute visitors in the shape of Valais Black Nosed lambs and other cuties included Gorefield Alpacas.
A spokesperson for the organisers said: “Thank you to everyone who came and supported our 61st Show. We hope you’ve had a fun-filled day and have taken away lots of special memories.
“Our heartfelt thanks go to our sponsors, exhibitors, traders, judges, stewards, special guests, helpers, and competitors. Each year we are blown away by your generosity and support.
“Everyone you saw working around the show today volunteers their time to bring the show to life. Once again, thank you, for your continued support, and we hope to see you all next year on Saturday, June 14, 2025.”
