Man arrested after police uncover cannabis factory on Bridge Street in Chatteris




A man has been arrested after police discovered a cannabis factory in town.

Last Tuesday, Fenland neighbourhood officers uncovered the factory on Bridge Street in Chatteris.

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis after plants and numerous bags of the Class B drug were found inside.

He has not been charged, but has been released on police bail to return to Thorpewood Police Station in Peterborough on September 10.

Police have reminded the public of signs of a cannabis factory. These include:

• Strange smells coming from the property

• Windows covered or curtains closed all the time

• Lots of visitors, often at unsociable hours

• No snow or frost covered roofs

• Buzz of ventilation
