Outwell property owner given go-ahead for two-metre high fence to protect it from thieves
A homeowner has been given the green light to erect a new fence around his property to “enhance security” following multiple thefts.
Jake Staples submitted a planning application at the beginning of February seeking permission to construct a fence around his property on Stow Road in Outwell, and it was approved by West Norfolk Council last week.
He will put up a two-metre-high wooden fence around 50m in length along the front boundary of his property, with a four-metre-wide metal security gate for access.
Mr Staples’ planning documents said that since moving into his property, he has experienced multiple incidents of theft, leading to costly repairs, as well as unauthorized vehicles parking on his land.
He said: “The proposed fence and gate are intended to enhance security, prevent trespassing, and protect my property.
“Additionally, I plan to raise livestock on the premises, and the fencing will help ensure their safety and containment.”
A report from borough council planning officers stated that there would be “no adverse impacts upon neighbour amenity as a result of the development”.
