Manea Gala 2018 promises loads of family fun this weekend including a dog show
This weekend sees the 62nd annual Manea Gala with a host of fun promised for all the family.
The event on Saturday kicks off with the usual carnival parade which will muster outside the village school in Station Road before processing through the streets, starting at 11.30am.
The theme for this year’s floats is ‘All about Disney and its characters’.
Among the floats will be one carrying this year’s Gala Queen Ebony Day and Head Prince Alfie Davison, along with the other princes and princesses.
The parade will eventually make its way to the playing field in Park Road when an afternoon of activities and entertainment will take place.
This year attractions start with the Little Nippers Lurcher and Terrier Show at 1.30pm, there will be a motorbike display, a tug of war competition for both adults and children and a fun dog show.
Classes will include the dog the judge would most like to take home and entry is 50p per category.
The classic and historic vehicle winners will parade the show ring at 4.45pm with the Little Nippers Lurcher and Terriers making a return visit at 5pm.
At 5.30pm it will be time to check those raffle tickets as the grand draw is made. Proceeds from this will be going towards a new defibrillator for the village.
There will also be evening entertainment from Manea Silver Band, Katie Terry Disco and Karaoke and Anything for Lydia Wants Band.
