A Fenland lorry driver has hung up his keys as he prepares to get revved up for his new business venture.

David Hall has launched his new mobility scooter repair and maintenance service, Scooter Paramedic.

The 56-year-old undertook a specific training course last year, and now that the sugar beet harvest season is over he is leaving lorry driving behind to concentrate on building up his business.

He said: “Before being a lorry driver I spent 35 years in the brickyards but I was made redundant.

“I became a lorry driver but I don’t really enjoy it.

“I went on the training course last year.

“The work I have done so far has gone really well, so I’m looking forward to being able to open my business properly and carrying on.”

Now a fully-trained engineer and DBS checked, David carries out all kinds of repairs and servicing on mobility scooters – from tyre punctures to accident damage.

He also refurbishes second-hand scooters for sale, and is a dealer for Sterling scooters.

David offers a mobile service and will come out to you at home – but can also carry out more extensive repairs at his home in Manea.

He said: “There are not that many services like this in the area, and as there is only me I am able to offer services for cheaper as I have no overheads.” For more information contact David on 07833 281142 or 01354 680662 or email: scooterparamedic@hotmail.co.uk
