March Brass 2000 face costly bill after instruments are stolen
March Brass 2000 are appealing for help from the public after the theft of musical instruments.
Two very large B flat bass instruments and one large euphonium were stolen from St Peter's Church in March, where the band practice.
The band believe the theft occurred sometime on St George's Day Fayre, April 24/25.
Although the band have insurance, this will not cover the replacement of these instruments.
If anyone has any information please contact the police on 101 and quote reference 3532902/22.
March Brass, which usually plays at local events, have worked very hard to keep the band alive through covid despite not being able to take on engagements.
Chair Peter Sutterby said he is extremely saddened at the loss, as the band still have fees to pay and replacing the instruments will be very costly.
Please can the public check photos of items for sale for any signs of the instruments or if they are offered an instrument to buy contact the police on the number above.
A computer and a piano stool were also stolen.
