Charities and groups are being invited to apply for grants from a March business aiming to make a difference to its community.
Smurfit Kappa is on the lookout for charities, organisations and individuals in the area who could benefit from a share of cash from its sponsorship scheme.
The corrugated packaging firm, based in Hostmoor Avenue, has recently re-launched the scheme and will be setting aside £5,000 a year to donate to worthy causes, on a quarterly basis.
The next round of £1,250 is now up for grabs, and anyone wanting to be considered for a share of the fund has until Thursday, July 2, to get their applications submitted.
Smurfit’s plant director Paul Gavin said: “The budget has been created to help both local charities and community groups. A total of 58 per cent of our employees live in March and we want to be known as both a responsible company and employer.
“We are hoping these donations will make a real difference locally.”
Applications can only be received from the PE15 postcode area, and have to be accompanied by a letter, ideally on headed paper.
Applicants are asked to give as much information as possible, including how many people would benefit from a donation and what impact it would make.
One of the firm’s most recent donations was £400 to March Cricket Club to fund sponsored kit and equipment.
Anyone wanting an application form can contact the company on 01354 662200.
