March detective faces charge
A detective awaiting trial on charges of sexual assault and misconduct faced an additional charge when he appeared in court again on Monday.
Detective Sergeant Matt Swash, 40, who is based at March Police Station, faced a further misconduct in public office charge at Stevenage Crown Court.
The charge relates to an alleged sexual relationship with a victim of an assault which he was investigating and is alleged to have taken place between between April 9, 2012, and February 28 ,2013.
Swash is currently awaiting trial after previously denying 11 counts of sexual assault and two counts of misconduct in public office. The trial is due to start at St Albans Crown Court on June 29.
He has already admitted one charge under the Computer Misuse Act 1990.
