A March postman will be leaving his round to complete a 100km walk to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Nick Winterton will be putting his best foot forward to walk the 100km between London and Cambridge at the end of August.

Mr Winterton has been inspired to take on the 24-hour challenge after visiting the wards.

No stranger to fundraising, this is Mr Winterton’s fourth charity walk.

He is now hoping to raise as much money as possible for the good cause and is appealing for sponsorship.

Mr Winterton said: “This is my first charity walk for a few years and I’m really looking forward to it.

“I was getting asked at least once a week if I was doing another one and to be honest it was never in doubt.

“The warmth and the generosity shown by everyone over the years has been fantastic.

“I was lucky enough to visit a ward and look at some of the improvements at the hospital a few years ago and I would love to go again and see the changes since then.

“All the extra fundraising money keeps Great Ormond Street world class and if any money I’ve raised over the years has helped a child’s life in any way then it is job done.”

There are a variety of ways to sponsor Mr Winterton. You could ask a postman to deliver a form to your door or call March delivery office on 01354 723301. The office also has a collection box. Alternatively visit www.justgiving.com/NICK-WINTERTON1
