Chatteris Mayor makes donation to community defibrillator fund
The Mayor of Chatteris, Cllr Linda Ashley, has handed a cheque to Mrs Rosemarie Croucher, for the town’s Community Defibrillators fund.
The money, from the Mayor’s fund, will be used to buy two new batteries for existing public defibrillators and a set of new pads at a cost of £600.
The Mayor was alerted to by a Justgiving campaign organised by Mrs Croucher who runs a number of schemes to raise money for the life-saving devices including yard sales, a lottery and collection boxes around the town but she was struggling to find sufficient funds to replace the costly batteries.
Mrs Croucher is looking for a home for a sixth defibrillator and ideally she would like to install one somewhere mid distance between existing units at Apple Green garage at Slade End and the Co-op undertakers.
