Meet the authors behind a shocking true story
The authors, including a former Lynn News reporter, behind a book that has attracted international media coverage are to appear at Spalding’s Bookmark store.
She’s A Boy is the shocking true story of Joe Holliday, who was born a boy but raised a girl.
Joe, 27, lives in Acacia Avenue, Spalding and the book was written by journalist Louise Chapman, who also lives in the town.
Louise, 35, said: “There has been such a supportive and encouraging reaction to the book and Joe from people in Spalding and far beyond.
“Bookmark has invited Joe and I in to give people the chance to see how Joe is getting along now, hear a little about the whirlwind of the last few weeks since the book was released and ask any questions they have about Joe’s life or how the book came about.”
She’s A Boy, extracts of which appeared in the Daily Mail, has attracted five star reader reviews. Since its release last month, the book and Joe have been featured on ITV’s This Morning, in Best magazine, Vanity Fair Italy and on BBC radio.
Joe and Louise will appear at Bookmark in a special evening event, starting at 7.15pm on Wednesday, October 14. Tickets, including a glass of wine or juice, cost £3.50.
She’s A Boy, published by Thistle Publishing, will soon be available to buy in Bookmark and can be ordered in store now for collection on the night. Books must be ordered by Friday, September 25, to guarantee availability on the night.
