Motorcyclist seriously hurt in crash involving horse box at Boots Bridge near Manea




A motorcyclist was hospitalised after a crash involving a horsebox at the notorious Boots Bridge junction on Saturday.

The crash happened around 5.48pm at the junction with the B1093 Sixteen Foot Bank.

It involved a white Renault Master horsebox and a black Husqvarna Svartpilen motorcycle.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: "The motorcyclist, a 40-year-old man from March, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

"The horsebox was being driven by a 39-year-old woman from the March area who was not injured."

The road was closed for some time an air ambulance was among the emergency services to attend the scene.

The crash comes just a matter of weeks after Cambridgeshire Highways unveiled a raft of safety measures at the junction, which is a notorious hotspot for collisions.
