MP Steve Barclay visits Orchards Care Home in Wisbech

MP Steve Barclay visited Orchards Care Home in Wisbech to discuss current issues with manager Sarah Watson and her team.

The member for North East Cambridgeshire said a specific issue faced across the care sector, and in many other local businesses, is the change to employers’ National Insurance introduced by the Government.

He said this hikes costs in businesses which need to employ large numbers of people, as is the case when providing care services.

The Conservative MP said: “Thank you to Miranda Robinson, the lifestyle lead, who showed me around other parts of the care home, including the much-enjoyed outdoor area, which is already a firm favourite with residents. It is great to see the team’s commitment to supporting those in need of care.”
