Murrow schoolgirl Aurora plans to help Little Princess Trust with real hair donation
A Murrow schoolgirl is set to shed her long locks to help children with cancer.
Eight-year-old Aurora Mobius has waited almost six months to be allowed to donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust, which provides wigs to children who have suffered hair loss through illness including cancer.
Her proud mum Natalie Stageman said: "Aurora watched a programme last summer about children who had lost their hair and wanted to know what could be done to help them.
"I explained about the charity and she immediately said she wanted to have her cut off so she could give it to them. But she is very young and children can be a bit impulsive so we suggested she wait and think about it.
"But she has never stopped asking and we have finally decided, after six months of waiting, that she is ready and understands what she is doing, so I'm busy organising for her to have her hair cut during the Easter holidays."
Aurora, who is Natalie and partner Max Mobius eldest child - they also have a son Orion, has also launched a Gofundme appeal for the charity.
Natalie said: "We set a target of £250 and she has already smashed that. It costs £550 to make a wig using donated hair, so Aurora now has her sights set on that. She would be absolutely thrilled if she could raise enough to pay for a wig to be made from her own hair."
