Cambian Group lodges plans with Fenland District Council to convert Selton House in Murrow into a children’s care home
Plans have been set out to convert a house into a new children’s care home.
The Cambian Group has submitted a planning application to Fenland District Council asking for permission to convert Selton House in Back Road, Murrow, into a care home.
The company said it has been providing specialist residential care services for children and young adults for over 15 years.
It wants to open a new home where it can offer a “safe and supportive environment”.
In the plans it states that the home would have space for a maximum of five children, aged between eight and 18 years old.
Four support staff and a manager would be at the home during the day, with two staff there overnight to make sure there is someone always available.
The company said it will create a “family home” for the children who live there.
“Cambian is seeking this application as part of its commitment to providing high-quality residential care and support services for vulnerable individuals.
“The proposed use of Selton House as a care home aligns with the company’s long-standing expertise in delivering specialised care services.
“The facility will offer a safe, structured, and supportive environment tailored to meet the needs of its residents.”
It is said that if permission is granted, it would enable it to help “looked-after children realise their potential through a stable environment”.
The application will need to be considered by the district council before a decision is issued on whether the changes proposed can go ahead.
