New health and wellness centre opens in Wisbech on Saturday
A new health and wellness centre coming to Wisbech is hoping to help relieve pressure off GP surgeries.
The Evolution Health and Wellness Centre is opening this Saturday on Algores Way. It is a not-for-profit community interest company (CIC).
The centre will be opened by Wisbech’s Mayor Sidney Imafidon and there will be therapists offering mini taster sessions and presentations at what Evolution will be offering.
Kate Litchfield, from the health centre, told the Fenland Citizen that it will be offering a range of therapies, workshops and drop-in support groups.
Ms Litchfield said: “We hope in time to be able to connect to the local surgeries to help them with alternative ways to help their patients.
The reason we set up as a CIC is that we want to make a difference to the community of Wisbech and surrounding areas by offering a fund to those who would not normally be able to access complementary therapies.
“Complementary therapies can help with any number of health issues. Stress, obesity, type two diabetes, IBS and isolation to name a few are affecting so many people today and these are all able to be helped with complementary therapies and education.
“We believe this is a very exciting opportunity for the community of Wisbech and surrounding villages.”
