New MD appointed at Persimmon for our area
A new managing director has been appointed at Persimmon Homes East Midlands and he will be responsible for Fenland.
Richard Gartside has joined the company from Cortland where he sat on the European senior leadership team and oversaw the delivery of the UK portfolio
Richard will be responsible for the 120 strong team who look after Cambridgeshire, Fenland, Lincolnshire, Rutland and North Northamptonshire and will oversee all of the company’s regional operations, based at its Peterborough headquarters.
Commenting on his appointment, Richard said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining Persimmon Homes at a time when they have recently secured their 5 star quality rating. I am joining a great team and I look forward to continuing to grow the business in an area of great opportunity.”
Richard’s career in the industry started in 1994 after leaving university.
He added: “My focus for the business is firmly on ensuring a positive experience for all customers, delivering beautifully designed and well-constructed homes they can enjoy living in for many years to come.
“Supporting customers is the cornerstone of our business, with everyone in the Persimmon East Midlands team working hard to achieve and maintain five-star customer satisfaction ratings.
“I want to forge relationships with new suppliers and contractors who can support our aim to develop high quality homes across the patch.
“Persimmon is known for creating vibrant and sustainable communities across the region, providing much-needed new homes and infrastructure to ensure the long-term viability of our cherished towns and villages,” said Richard.
“I hope to continue our work with the local communities where we are building. We have previously supported hundreds of small charities, schools, sports clubs and voluntary groups through our Community Champions funding scheme, and we are always keen to connect with good causes that enhance the lives of local people.”
Regional divisional director, Simon McDonald, said: “Richard is known and well-respected throughout the industry and we are delighted to welcome him on board.”
Richard is married with two boys and enjoys rugby and motorsports.
