The deadline for the second annual Fenland Business Awards is fast approaching – in fact entries close on Friday (February 2), so if you want to be included in this prestigious event now’s the time to act.
Last year the Business of the Year was won by Swann Edwards Architects who beat off stiff competition to take the crown.
Business of the Year sets out to recognise an established business that has been trading for at least three years and can show evidence of growth, a commitment to the local community, a business strategy and vision for the next three years to five years, proven success and achievement during the past two years, management with the ability to drive the business forward and a genuine commitment to staff.
There are 12 categories with awards up for grabs in this year’s Fenland Business Awards brought to you by Iliffe Media.
The full line-up of categories are: Apprentice/Trainee of the Year; Best New Start-Up; Best Social Enterprise (sponsored by Clarion Futures); Business Innovation (Sponsored by Nestle Purina); Business of the Year; Businessperson of the Year (sponsored by Mapus-Smith & Lemmon LLP); Customer Care; Employee of the Year (Sponsored by Nestle Purina); Environmental Champion; Independent Retailer of the Year and Excellence in Agriculture (supported by Fenland District Council) and finally Readers’ Choice Award (this award will reward excellent customer service in the retail and hospitality industry as voted for by Fenland Citizen readers).
Winners will be named at the prestigious gala night on Friday, March 15 at the March Braza Club on Elm Road.
But as the saying goes, “you have to be in it to win it”, so to be in with a chance to follow in the footsteps of Swann Edwards visit the awards website for details on each of the categories and how to enter.
The awards will be presented at a glittering black-tie evening which will include a three-course meal and will bring decision-makers and business leaders together from across the area to celebrate business success and innovation.
Nominations will close at 5pm this Friday, February 2.
Judges will then start the difficult task of choosing three finalists in each category.
These will be announced in the Fenland Citizen with the finalists being notified via email.
Once announced our judges will then arrange to interview each finalist in their place of business.
Then it will be fingers crossed until the winners are announced at the live event on March 15.
