Linda Ashley and Sharon Selman chosen as next mayor and deputy of Chatteris during vote at town council meeting

The new mayor and deputy for Chatteris have been chosen at the town council’s latest meeting.

At Tuesday evening’s meeting, Cllr Linda Ashley was selected to take on the role of mayor with Cllr Sharon Selman acting as deputy.

This comes after councillors nominated who they wanted to replace the current mayor, Cllr Anne Hay, and her consort Cllr Ian Benney, who have served for the last two years.

She said: “I would like to thank all of the residents of Chatteris for the past two years as mayor.”
