Nine-year-old from Wisbech proves he is a Good Samaritan

A Fenland schoolboy has proved he is a Good Samaritan after helping to organise a charity bingo.

Nine-year-old Oscar Clark organised a very successful prize bingo at Walsoken Village Hall which raised over £1,000 in aid of King’s Lynn Samaritans – a charity close to his family’s heart.

His proud Great Aunt Pat Gray, who helped him organise the bingo, explained: “Oscar announced he wanted to organise a bingo for the charity that his Grandma, June Bassett, and Aunty Pat support.

“Obviously as a family we were keen to encourage him and it was lovely for my sister, June. We all helped him, and we had about 50 or 60 people come along. Oscar was very proud to have raised so much.”

Rob’s Bingo, run by Rob Gay, helped run it with Oscar calling a couple of games and handing out the prizes.

Members of the King's Lynn Samaritans and members of Rob's team also helped.

Oscar, who is the son of Sam Bassett and Alan Clark, and attends Nene and Ramnoth School in Wisbech, presented the cheque to the director of King’s Lynn Samaritans.

His parents and his older sister Imogen, also helped out on the night.

Pat added: “It was a real family affair. He would like to thank everyone who helped in any way including those who donated some wonderful prizes and supported the event.
