No buyer for The Bridge Hotel in Sutton Bridge

Hopes for a derelict eyesore have been dashed after it failed to sell at auction.

The Bridge Hotel in Sutton Bridge had a guide price of £180,000 but did not attract a buyer when it was featured in an online auction yesterday.

The remains of the 21-bedroom hotel had been up for auction in 2022 when it was sold for a surprising £181,000.

The remains of the hotel have become an eyesore at the entrance of the village after it was ravaged by a blaze.

Members of South Holland District Council were told at a recent meeting that the owners had not registered with the Land Registry.

The hotel – which does not have a roof – has a total of 21 bedrooms with 18 ‘benefitting from ensuite bathrooms’, according to the latest listing on Rightmove.

People in Sutton Bridge were hopeful that a new owner could be found to buy the site and develop it.

Pippa Jones, who owns Pippa’s Pantry in Sutton Bridge, would have liked to see derelict The Bridge Hotel transformed rather than left to slowly rot.
