Fenland Police issue warning to parents on school run about dangers of parking on single yellow lines

Police have issued a warning to parents picking their children up from school to not park on single yellow lines.

Officers have reminded parents on the school run that parking on a single yellow line during the hours of operation is prohibited and they could face getting a parking ticket.

Neighbourhood officers who are regularly patrolling the schools in the area during pickup and drop-off time are finding that a large number of drivers are disregarding the single yellow line.

Last week, six tickets were issued to cars parked illegally or obstructively at various schools across the sector.

Police say this issue is an ongoing priority for them and that they will continue to visit schools in the area to tackle poor parking

They added that parking obstructively around schools is “extremely dangerous” as it can put pedestrians and other road users at risk.
