Paul celebrates milestone anniversary working with Tamar Nurseries in Walpole Highway

The long service of one nursery worker has been recognised with the presentation of a special award.

David Huggins, known as Paul to his work colleagues at Tamar Nurseries, was presented with the Horticultural Society Long Service Award by managing director Johan Huibers.

Paul has been with Tamar Nurseries, which is based in West Drove South, Walpole Highway, for nearly 46 years – he reaches that milestone this July.

Johan said that Tamar Nurseries, which grows over a million plants each year and a wide range of trees in various sizes and formations for a wide customer base that includes local authorities, landscapers, designers, and estate managers, would not be as successful today without great members of staff like Paul.

Johan thanked Paul for all his hard work, dedication, loyalty, honesty, and above most friendship.

During Paul’s time at Tamar Nurseries, he has undertaken a variety of horticultural work, from being the production manager for many years, to being back as propagation manager, doing what Paul enjoys best.

Johan added: “Paul is proud to see his son, James, working for Tamar in our accounts department, so the generation will continue and the name Huggins will remain within the company we hope for many years to come.”

The team at Tamar Nurseries helped celebrate this special achievement and together with Johan congratulated Paul on this remarkable achievement and thanked him for his contribution, commitment, and support throughout the years.
