Manea peat fire call out for crew

Firefighters were called to a fire in the open in Manea on Saturday (26).

A crew from Chatteris attended the fire on Station Road at 12.33pm.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving a large area of peat well alight.

They extinguished it using a hose reel and a jet and returned to their station by 2.45pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
