Fitness fundraiser held at Emneth Village Hall raises a total of £750 for NSPCC
Many people came out to dance and stretch for a good cause as part of a fitness fundraiser.
The event took place at Emneth Central Hall where people got their fitness gear on to take part in an afternoon of exercise on Saturday.
It was organised by Lisa Melton, who is on the NSPCC charity committee and Dance Fit with Conan – a dance studio based in Wisbech.
“We got our heads together and thought ‘what could we do?’ and this was it,” Lisa said.
The friends got together with an aim of raising money for the children’s charity while getting people moving. Around 28 people came to show their support.
Lisa said: “We had more people attending than we thought which was wonderful. Obviously, we had no idea as people paid on the door.”
A total of £750 was raised for the event that included a raffle that raised £350 which was added to that total.
“We were so thrilled, it was great. It was a lovely fun afternoon and we really enjoyed it,” added Lisa.
“I’ve been on the committee for quite a few years, we’re constantly trying to find different things to do and branching out to make event fundraisers more affordable for everyone.”
