A Wisbech Grammar School student has made her musical mark by scoring almost 100 per cent in her grade eight instrumental examination for the saxophone. Lauren Mounfield , 18, pictured above, soared above the 85 marks needed for a distinction to record a near perfect 98 per cent in the Trinity College London exam, demonstrating her skills in scales, arpeggios and pieces, as well as in aural exercises. A pupil of Ceri Griffin, Lauren has been playing the saxophone for eight years and has also achieved a merit at grade seven with the flute. She also plays in the school’s jazz band. PHOTO SUBMITTED
