Plain clothes help police tackle crime in Fenland town
Police in Wisbech have been under-cover over the last few days as they tackle issues of anti-social behaviour and drugs in the town centre and park.
Posting to their Facebook page the Wisbech Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "Over the last three days your local Wisbech Neighbourhood Policing Team have been a bit quiet on here.
"Here is an update on what we have been doing. We have been out on patrol, however you would not have seen us -well a couple of unlucky people have- as we have been in plain clothes to tackle the issues of anti social behaviour in the town centre and the park.
"As a result of our work two persons have been arrested for possession of drugs with intent to supply, one for cannabis and one for suspected class A drugs and cannabis.
"During one of the house searches pepper spray was found and this has been seized.
"These are live ongoing investigations. Both persons were arrested.
"Officers have also used their powers to stop search a number of people around Wisbech. Nothing was found during these stops.
"And today's top tip, if you try to run from officers with drugs on you, don’t leave your bike, it came in very handy for the officer to keep up with you. We can’t be everywhere, but we could be anywhere!"
