March Enterprise Park could grow with new commercial units and cafe planned
A cluster of six new units proposed for a site at March Enterprise Park have been designed with starter businesses in mind.
They will occupy a piece of scrubland in Thorby Avenue and the applicants promise the development, which includes a cafe, will represent a “high quality piece of architecture”.
A design statement accompanying the plans submitted to Fenland District Council explains that a need has been identified for small incubator type units in the area.
The units are intended to be small in scale (with a degree of flexibility), in order to encourage professional use occupation such as professional services, health, fitness, industrial and storage, with the potential for a small food establishment incorporated to supply and cater for the newly created units and the ones existing around it.
The statement describes the existing site as a haphazard collection of industrial and commercial premises with a large range of uses and business typologies.
The proposed units will create a new street scene with parking, a linear garden and trees proposed.
The proposals with design concept have been submitted to Fenland planners by Grow Design Studio, Colchester.
