Police appeal after furniture set alight in Wisbech park earlier this month
Police are appealing for information after furniture was set alight outside a newly-opened park café earlier this month.
As reported by the Fenland Citizen at the time, rattan-type furniture left outside the Pavilion Café in Wisbech overnight on Sunday, March 9 was attacked, leaving it ruined.
The incident took place around 2am on the Monday, at the same time as a group of teenagers were seen in the area. Officers are now appealing to them or anyone with information to get in touch.
Wisbech Town Council said at the time of the incident that CCTV in the area was being checked to see if the culprits were caught on camera.
New owners had only been in charge of the café for a week when the incident happened.
A police spokesman said: “Do you have any footage that may be of use or information about someone coming home smelling of smoke or with fire damage on their clothing? Please get in touch.”
Information can be reported to police by calling 101 or online at orlo.uk/vw1Ns, quoting CC-10032025-0077.
