Police issue tickets to illegally parked vehicles during patrols in Whittlesey

Police spent another week on patrol in a town, tackling parking.

Due to it being an issue that is continuously highlighted to the police as a concern, officers have been back out on patrol in Whittlesey to issue tickets to cars parked illegally.

Tickets were issued to cars parked on a single yellow line during the hours of operation outside Alderman Jacobs Primary School, as well as in the pedestrian zone on High Causeway.

A spokesperson for the police said: “This may seem like a low-level issue to some, but parking in an obstructive manner can put pedestrians and other road users at risk.

“We will continue these patrols when we can. We can’t be everywhere, but we could be anywhere.”
