Police are investigating the death of a man who was pulled from a river in Downham yesterday (Monday, August 31).

The body of a man was recovered from the River Great Ouse Relief Channel yesterday morning.

Officers were called to Hythe Bridge at about 10.50am after passerby reported seeing a body in the water.

A police statement says; “The death continues to be treated as unexplained however it is not thought to be suspicious at this stage.

“Police have so far been unable to identify the man despite a number of enquiries and work continues in a bid to identify the deceased.”
