Police are investigating after a man was found dead in a car submerged in water.
The man was discovered on Thursday, January 23 in his car, which was submerged at North Bank, Whittlesey.
He has since been identified by police as 54-year-old Nick Smith, of Mansfield Court in Peterborough.
Mr Smith’s death is not being treated as suspicious. However, road policing officers are investigating the circumstances of his death.
His family has paid tribute to him, describing him as an “amazing son and brother” and a “genius musician”.
Mr Smith’s family said: “Nick was a naturally gifted self-taught musician who established an amazing reputation across the UK and further afield within the bass guitar world.
“Born and bred local lad from Newark village in Peterborough, Nick attended Newark Hill primary and Deacon’s senior school.
“He moved away from a career in IT to follow his passion as a full-time musician, he has taught many local children and adults and will be missed very much.
“We have not only lost an amazing son and brother, but a genius musician.”
